In regards to Bruce Hopgood:
I first found out about Bruce in the Farm Show Magazine. My wife and I farm in the northwest corner of Missouri. We have a cowherd and some row crop. I had recently bought a Border collie pup. I was trying to do some of the training on her and found out pretty quick I didn’t have time or know how for that. That is when I came across Bruce’s ad so I called him and got him the first time and we talked about Mattie, my dog. Bruce said he had an opening if I wanted; I could bring her out which my wife and I did. We arrived; Bruce invited us in and showed us what he tries to get out of the dogs as he trains them. He used DVD’s to show us. We let Mattie out, as Bruce put his hand out for Mattie to smell she promptly bit him, no blood. We then went to his training and kennel place. It was very cold and stayed that way for several weeks along with snow and ice. There was hardly a day fit for training for about 4 weeks. Bruce did not charge us for this amount of time. I went back to Bruce’s place in about 6 week’s time to train with Mattie. I didn’t want to go but Bruce kind of insisted. I also trained with Mattie one full day when we picked her up. I was truly impressed with the way Mattie responded to commands and she minds perfectly. We spent a good deal of money with Bruce for Mattie’s training and our money was WELL spent. Mattie is a true asset for our farm. One more asset that Bruce instilled in Mattie is that come night she wants to go to her kennel so she can be ready for the next day’s events. She’s a very good dog and quite a bit of that came from Bruce. Bruce even made me feel I could call him anytime for advice. He also called us to see how Mattie was doing.
